Wallets, FLOWER, Gems, and Coins

How Base wallets, in-game coins, gems, and the FLOWER token interact — and what each currency is for.

Sunflower Land uses two layers of money: soft currencies inside the game (coins and gems) and FLOWER, the on-chain token on Base. Confusing them leads to failed transactions, wrong marketplace prices, or spending real value on cosmetic upgrades.

Wallet on Base

Your wallet signs blockchain actions: NFT transfers, some purchases, and FLOWER trades. Base ETH pays gas. Amounts are usually small, but keep a little ETH so crafting or marketplace listings never stall mid-click.

SFL Manager never asks for your seed phrase. It only reads public farm data. Use the home page exchange widget for FLOWER fiat quotes and Exchange API if you automate prices.

Rule: Coins and gems stay in-game. FLOWER moves on-chain. Converting between them uses official bridges or in-game sinks — not random DMs offering "deals."

Coins — daily workhorse

Coins come from selling crops, completing deliveries, quests, and some mini-games. You spend them on:

  • Tool and building crafting
  • Market stall purchases from other players (coin side)
  • Many expansion and upgrade rows

Coins are inflationary by design — always moving. A healthy farm generates and spends coins daily instead of sitting on millions while deliveries go unfulfilled.

Track whether a delivery is worth it in coins using Deliveries info, which can relate rewards to live P2P where relevant.

Gems — premium accelerators

Gems are the hard currency bought or earned in smaller amounts. Typical uses:

  • Speed-ups and convenience buys
  • Selected shop items and boosts
  • Chapter pass tiers and megastore slots (seasonal)

Gems do not replace bumpkin grind. They shorten waits. Before gem spending, check if cooking, skills, or stock upgrades achieve the same goal slower but cheaper (Cooking info, Skills info).

FLOWER — on-chain value

FLOWER is the ecosystem token. It appears when:

  • Trading on the P2P marketplace for high-value items
  • Participating in auctions and seasonal sinks
  • Reward tracks that explicitly pay FLOWER

Manager surfaces FLOWER in headers, delivery "in FLOWER" columns, and tools like Trade and P2P calc. Treat FLOWER as real cost: multiply by your local quote before bidding on NFT wearables or rare collectibles.

Currency Where it lives Best use
Coins In-game balance Crafting, stall, everyday growth
Gems In-game balance Time saves, seasonal shop
FLOWER Base wallet + in-game sinks Marketplace, auctions, rare buys
Base ETH Wallet Gas for on-chain actions

Bridging and deposits

When depositing or withdrawing FLOWER, use official game flows only. Copy the FLOWER contract from the in-game or Manager header — never from Discord links. Wrong network or fake tokens mean permanent loss.

After wallet changes, confirm the same address owns your farm NFT (Getting started).

Planning spend by stage

Early: Coins only; ignore FLOWER trades until you know item values.

Mid: Small FLOWER buys for delivery-critical ingredients via P2P when your farm cannot craft them yet.

Late: FLOWER stockpile for chapter auctions, faction boosts, and high-tier wearables (Chapter race, Factions).

Tax and record-keeping

FLOWER may be taxable in your jurisdiction when traded for fiat. Manager shows historical auction and trade context; it is not tax advice. Export your own records if you actively flip items.
