P2P Marketplace and Fees

Listing items, FLOWER trades, fee math, and tools to price listings before you commit.

The player-to-player marketplace lets farmers trade items for FLOWER on Base. It is the main liquidity path when your island cannot craft an ingredient yet, or when you want to sell surplus for token balance. Mispriced listings and ignored fees erode profits fast.

What trades on P2P

High-volume categories include crops, cooked meals, fish, bait materials, wearables, collectibles, and seasonal items. Not everything is tradable — verify in-game before farming spares. Manager surfaces live context on Trade and historical pricing helpers on Prices when configured.

Coins still matter for stall-style trades; FLOWER is the cross-farm standard for valuable stacks (Wallets & tokens).

Listing lifecycle

Typical seller flow:

  1. Item in inventory → list on marketplace.
  2. Set unit price in FLOWER (or allowed denomination).
  3. Pay listing fee and wait for buyer match.
  4. On sale, pay transaction fee; net FLOWER lands in wallet.

Exact fee percentages follow game patches — always read the confirmation dialog in-client before bulk listing. Manager's P2P calc models net received after fees so you can compare to holding for deliveries. Pair with /util/prices on the site; the extension shows session inventory so you do not list items still needed for chores.

Never list below breakeven just to clear stock during normal weeks. Double delivery weeks may justify thinner margins (Seasons calendar).

Buyer workflow

Before buying:

  • Check Deliveries info — sometimes crafting or fishing beats market ask.
  • Run P2P calc with quantity and fee assumptions.
  • Confirm seller listing freshness; stale undercuts happen after patches.

After buying, route items immediately into deliveries or cooking to avoid stock cap waste (Stock limits).

Fee math (conceptual)

Define:

  • gross — sticker price × quantity
  • listing_fee — paid upfront (may be returned or forfeited depending on rules — verify in-game)
  • sale_fee — taken from proceeds on fill

Netgross - sale_fee - gas. Compare net to:

  • Opportunity cost of farming the item (time × sessions)
  • Coin reward from fulfilling a delivery instead
  • FLOWER needed for upcoming auctions (Auctions info)

The calc tool encodes current fee constants when synced — refresh after game updates.

Pricing strategy

Seller goal Tactic
Fast flip Slightly undercut lowest ask; watch fees
Max profit List at delivery-implied value from Deliveries info
Bulk offload Smaller stacks sell faster; avoid single huge lot unless whales active

Inspect competitor farms via home land search only for public inventory context — not for harassment.

Safety

Trade only inside the official marketplace UI. Escrow scams via Discord DMs are common. FLOWER moves on-chain — copy contract addresses from the Manager header, not random links.

Ties to other systems

  • Cooking ingredients you buy should improve XP or delivery profit (Cooking info).
  • Fishing rare catches may sell high but also satisfy quests (Fishing guide).
  • Chapter auctions compete for the same FLOWER pool (Chapter race).

When to avoid P2P

If an item is cheap to grow locally within one play session, farming beats fees. If an item is needed long-term, buying once beats repeated emergency purchases at spikes.
